We are very proud and the hole village are looking forward to this event. We have already noticed that this week is going to be a success, so if you want to make sure that you get accommodation at Idre Fjäll we need your reservation as soon as possibly. Last year we opened the steepest prepared slope in the Nordic countries. And it received the name "Chocken". A perfect slope for speed skiing! The professional speed skiers in Sweden says that is possible to break the Swedish record in "Chocken", and of course we hope that will be a fact at the World Championship. At the moment the Swedish record is 191 km/hour and the skiers says that you can reach over 200 km/hour in this course. If someone manage to break the record during the World Championship Idre Fjäll offers 10.000 Skr. in reward. And of course we like to see really good results during the Europa Cup 12-14 April and at The Swedish Cup, 12-14 mars. Both the competitions are good practice for the BIG game and we hope that lots of racers are interested to participate. To participate in our competitions, we need the registration as soon as possibly, both for the competitions (You receive registration form from your ski association) and for accommodation (separate form). For the Europa Cup and World Championship the skiers need FIS-license and for The Swedish Cup a registration in national ski association is necessary. Send your registration form to:
We dare to say that many people knows about Idre Fjäll but for those who don´t here follow some information. Idre Fjäll is the southernmost mountain region in Sweden. This is where the mountain range starts, stretching up to Lofoten in the far north of Norway. The snow falls early in Idre Fjäll. Our stable inland climate far from the humid Atlantic winds means that the skiing season often begins by the end of Oktober. This fact combined with one of the biggest snowmaking systems in Europe.
